in classic 18th Century style; the three scrolling branches springing from an urn with flambeau; with grapevine festoon and foliate decoration. Cast by Maison Mottheau & Fils, circa 1900, marked with EM and various numbers to reverse;
and restored.

Mottheau

Maison Mottheau et Fils were renowned Parisian bronziers specializing in lighting fixtures. Founded in 1880, the firm frequently worked with sculptors, producing a wide range of chandeliers, candelabra, and torchères. The Mottheau exhibit at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris met with great critical acclaim.
