Six-light gilded and cut glass Baltic Chandelier with star fronds:
the frame with an unusual inner bead basket, star fronds and acanthus finials; dressed with racemes and graduated festoons of cut glass ‘chain pears’, ‘sun’ medallions and ‘pear’ pendants.
Circa 1880 and restored.

Often now referred to as 'crystal', the glass was blown and shaped, then passed to a specialist cutter, who would polish and cut patterns to enhance its brilliance.
