Amethyst glass Moser ‘Amphora’ Vase with gilded warrior frieze:
the classical amphora panel-cut vase on circular foot; with broad gilded frieze of colour tinted classical figures depicting the clash of the Amazons on a foliate ground. Known as ‘oroplastic’ technique.

Moser, Ludwig

Ludwig Moser (1833-1916), a Bohemian glass-producer and engraver who established a glassworks in 1857. Produced enamelled, engraved and gilt-decorated cased glass in the 1890s and came under the influence of Art Nouveau in 1900.
