Glossary Words
Bristol Blue
The name given to rich, deep blue-coloured glass produced between 1780 and 1840. It has been copied so well in modern times that it can be difficult to tell the difference.
Georgian
Covers the reigns of the four King Georges of England between 1714 and 1830. Simplicity, harmony, symmetry and airiness were characteristic of the period, which overlaps with Regency. See Adam's style.
