Founded in 1586, the Müntzthal glassworks become Verrerie royale in 1767 through Louis XV’s royal seal of approval. Producing high quality table glass, many designs with fine gilded borders or scrolling flowers, they still produce fine glassware today.

Venetian glass with opaque milky-white spiral threadwork in interlaced patterns. Used as decoration from early 16th century to late 18th century and revived in the mid-19th.
