Pair of gilt-mounted green opaline glass Palais Royal Scent Bottles:
the flute-cut bottles with filigree mounts, floral decoration and
octagonal hinged lids with tinted scenes of Paris; inner clear glass
stoppers. French, circa 1900 and restored.

Palais Royale

Small, French, gilded metal trinkets, some with Parisian scenes, many with mother-of-pearl insets. For instance, a gilded goat pulling a mother-of-pearl cart.

cut glass

Often now referred to as 'crystal', the glass was blown and shaped, then passed to a specialist cutter, who would polish and cut patterns to enhance its brilliance.
